After a poor launch of BK1, Zius is looking to redeem themselves by releasing the BK1S(BK1 Super). Did they finally got it right or it's just another blaster that you should avoid?

First of all, there are 2 variants of the blaster being released, BK1S and BK2S. BK1S retains the same 7.5inch handguard with a mil-spec buffer tube which will take all your standard M4 style buttstock. The BK2S is a shorter variant, featuring a PDW style buttstock instead. Both of them share the same receiver and internals, the only difference being handguard, inner barrel length, buffer tube and buttstock. The BK1S produces about 170-180FPS while the BK2S produces about 160FPS due to a shorter barrel. It uses a proprietary magazine but it's similar to the old BK1 so if you happened to have them, you can reuse your old mags. The mag is smaller than talon so it's hard to mod the blaster shell to fit talon mag without some rather heavy mod. On top of that, the magazine is designed to have the dart tip angled upwards to help feeding so it's highly recommended to use their mag for smooth operation. The BK1S comes with a receiver that takes standard Airsoft M4 style handguards however you will need to use a washer to secure the inner barrel in place if you choose to do so.

With all that said, is BK1S a flop or did it finally redeem itself? In short, the BK1S is what the BK1 should have been from the beginning. After testing it for few days and even bringing it to a local game, the BK1S just flat-out refused to jam. I will be honest with you, we tried! We've used really bad dart that been run over by a car, and yet it shot it out. We load dart with NO TIP, and still it got shot out. We even load the dart backwards, and still, it clears them off the barrel. I'm pretty sure, especially within the AEB realm, all these would have result in a bad jam and you probably need to push something through your barrel to unjam the blaster. It might take 1 extra shot, but it always clears off its barrel and that's impressive considering how small the plunger tube is.

There are quite a few AEB blaster in the market currently and with 77 around the corner, it will be interesting to see where the BK1S and BK2S stands. The BK1S is more of a XYL Unicorn class blaster, doing about 160-170FPS, similar to QWK Challenger MK3. 77, LN01 and Storm are playing within the 200+ to 300 FPS range, so they are totally different class of AEB blaster. I will say it's a CQB class AEB blaster versus those heavy hitters. It's a great close-mid range blaster or if you are playing under 200FPS. For its price, it's quite a value of money AEB blaster.

If you are looking to get one, you can place your pre-order on our website right now. During this period, we will be giving extra 2 magazines in your purchase, making it a total of 3 magazines.
